Mosaic is already talking about releasing another album.  Release estimate? Eh, probably Spring 2013.  But, hey! That’s not really so far away.

Well, we’ve got some theme ideas for the next album, but we’ll wait for awhile to share those with you.  For now, I wanted to share a new song that I’m hoping will make an appearance on the potential new album.  It hasn’t been MOSAICIFIED yet, but rest assured… it will be  Click here to hear it —>  One Day at a Time

While I have your ear, I also want to ask you to do something for me.  I want to ask you if it’s in your heart to support MOSAIC and invest in this ministry.  Just like over-seas missionaries, we need financial support to get there – and stay there.  We need people who believe in this “teaching God’s Word through music” ministry to send us out, so to speak, and enable us to continue putting God’s Word in music.  We’ve seen SO much fruit these past couple years.  God’s Word never returns void – even when it’s in a song! People’s lives are being changed.

You can make a huge difference in this ministry even by committing to $15.00 a month for a year.  It would be a HUGE help.  Your financial support would accomplish things like – New Albums, Hiring Studio Musicians, Operating Expenses, Being Able to Minister at Churches who can’t Afford to Pay, Food on Mosaic’s Table When the Going Gets Tough, and ultimately enabling us to continue writing scripture songs and Teaching God’s Word through our Music!

There is so much to tell you about the adventure of 2011, but for now (since I only have a few minutes) I’ll share one piece of information that is totally HUGE.  Our precious Devon is taking a sabbatical starting NOW that will last through at least the summer of 2012 so that she can get MARRIED to her wonderful fiance who happens to live in PARIS, FRANCE.  ***However, she and her soon-to-be husband plan on moving back to the States! We parted ways earlier this week and it was TEAR city to say the least, but we couldn’t be more excited for her, and Mosaic, as we move into this new season.

Now, what will MOSAIC do while Devon is gone??  We will continue to teach God’s Word through our music and take each day as it comes.  Thankfully, we are not strangers to changing vocal arrangements 1,000 times so we are all confident that we can still teach God’s Word through music that is easy on the ears

Please pray for us, and for Devon, as we continue to follow God wherever He leads us!

MOSAIC PREMIERES FIRST MUSIC VIDEO TODAY Critically-acclaimed Worship Band Releases “Live In Victory” Video Nashville, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2011) - Critically-acclaimed Christian band Mosaic releases its first music video today for the single “Live In Victory.” The song, which challenges listeners to break free from oppression, is featured on the group’s As Long As It Is Day CD. “The theme of the song is overcoming oppression through the power of the Holy Spirit. So, our goal for the video was to show a few different ways that we have oppression in our lives — ways we may not even realize — and how freedom from those strongholds can come when we call on Jesus,” says Mosaic band member Devon Graves, the songwriter of “Live In Victory.” The video, directed by Meredith Lockwood, was filmed at two locations in Los Angeles – in the suburb of La Cresenta, Calif., and at Berolina Bakery in Glendale, Calif. Meredith Lockwood, who attended Florida State University’s Film School, currently lives in Los Angeles. She has worked for film director Phillip Noyces at Rumbalara Films in Hollywood and made her Los Angeles stage directorial debut with The Tell-Tale Cat, written by Rochelle Perry, at Write Act Repertory. She is the sister of Mosaic member Patrick Lockwood. To promote the video, Mosaic band members have challenged their fans to post the “Live in Victory” graphic to their Facebook walls until November 11, along with a testimony of how the Holy Spirit has given them victory. Mosaic

Let me first say that what this organization is doing is SO important.  Wycliffe has people all over the world giving their lives to Bible translation.  They want to see the Bible translated into every HEART language in the world today.  Our heart language is the language we understand best.  You might ask “Why does it matter that someone has the Bible in their heart language?” Imagine reading the Bible only in your second or third language, and never in your heart language.

Another fascinating part of what Wycliffe does is something called Ethnomusicology.  Did you know that over 750 million adults worldwide are non-literate?  Did you know that many languages out there don’t have an alphabet yet?  These are just two of the many hurdles that Bible translation teams must cross.  But one of the many ways to reach people with the gospel can be through music! It can take many, many years to translate even just the New Testament into a new language, so in the mean time ethnomusicologists can be working alongside the team to start writing scripture songs – and in the community’s own style of music!  How cool!

The first time that Mosaic played at a Wycliffe chapel, they told us afterward that their hearts really resonated with our music because of the scriptural influence.  At the time we didn’t even feel fully sure of what our calling was, but God has used Wycliffe to help us understand what He wants for Mosaic.  So now we are pressing forward with a renewed vigor to teach God’s Word through music.  It’s really amazing how music can be a vehicle.  Even more amazing, is the faith that comes by hearing the Word of God.

Ok…so…

We realize that we have been terrible at keeping you all in the loop on what is happening with us! WE’RE SORRY!!!

This has been a year of definition for our group so far. We keep learning about ourselves, keep diving deeper into vision that God has given us, and we are constantly trying to pull our heads together on how to be good stewards of what we have been given. With that being said…we will be posting a new blog AND a new video EVERY WEEK!  Whew…so now that it’s out there…we are accountable…right?!

Haha…

Seriously though, there is so much that has happened a so much happening all the time that it can build up and get overwhelming!

Let me hit some highlights for now:

We have partnered with CLG Distribution (www.clgdistribution.com), which is a national independent distributor. For Mosaic, that means that more people are going to have access to our music. We recently we a part of a free music sampler with several awesome artists also a part of CLG and if you want some great new music you should  click this link: http://www.noisetrade.com/clgdistribution. While we as Mosaic have released the new album “Teach Us,” we have a national release date set for October 18th. Right now the album is available for pre-order on iTunes and will be available on October 18th. Also, by November you should be able to find “Teach Us” at most LifeWay bookstores. We will keep you updated as we know more.

Also, God has opened some doors for Mosaic in regards to other media outlets and we will keep you informed as we know things! We are very much looking forward to the re-release of the new album! Also keep you eye out for our music video “Live In Victory” which is FINISHED!! The release of the video will also be coming very soon so stay tuned!!

Yesterday, we went to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  We had a beautiful morning in Bar Harbor.  I bought a cappuccino and then we did the tourist dance for a  little while checking out the shops and stops.  Later in the day, I convinced Molly and her mom that we needed to get a move on and see Acadia National Park because I was not about to have to tell my dad that I didn’t check it out when I was this close in proximity.  No way.  So it was beautiful and we barely scratched the surface of all of the wonders of God in that park.  I would love to go back sometime and spend a week hiking the trails and eating fresh Maine blueberries or something.

We’re leaving tomorrow for Florida – my stomping ground. One of my best friends is getting married this weekend, and then it’s back to Mosaic tour.  Woohoo! God is good.
